Buy handmade pressed leaf ring 8cm - Wire or Maidenhair Vine
Pressed Wire Vine leaves aka Maidenhair Vine orMuehlenbeckia. The vine has been twined into a circle with inside diameter approx 8cm before pressing. The leaves dry to olive green which sometimes have a hint of mustard or khaki brown, with dark brown stems. Use for craft, herbariums and card making. Make a beautiful card by affixing bright flowers around the handmade circle to resemble a wreath. The leaves used are often variable in shade, shape and size, and the shape of the wreath can be naturally uneven due to the handmade process. Each leaf is generally approx 0.5 cm across, and the entire wreath is a little fatter than pressed flowers often are because of the way the stems wrap around each other (see image detail) and may be up to 0.5cm thick. Not for food use.
These leaves were grown and preserved in the UK in our own workshops on the South Coast. The last pic shows the plant growing in Sussex. This item is supplied loose (not affixed to a card) for use in your own projects and was inspired by traditional herbarium specimens. Herbariums are collections of botanical samples used for reference. There has been an influx of imported mass produced pressed flowers in the last few years. In order to illustrate the traceable sustainable nature of this handmade product (zero air miles!) we enclose collection data with this item, an example of which is shown in the image.
