Make a pressed flower card using UK grown Delphiniums

Annual Delphiniums are an English cottage garden favourite and are also known as Larkspur or Consolida. These UK grown delphiniums are in shades of pale blue, cream and green. We've supplied 5 pieces of these flowers which we pressed in our Sussex workshop - enough for one card. There is one flower spike approximately the same height as the card and four smaller pieces being tiny buds, leaves or separate flowers. These flowers are 100% natural and so are always a little bit wonky and variable, and they may be in bud not in full flower. These cards are inspired by Victorian herbariums. Show how much you care by making it yourself or cheat and buy something similar ready-made!

The DIY pressed flower kit includes one A6 size high quality blank greetings card in ivory. The card is made of 225gsm cardstock and measures 10.5cm x 14.8cm. The envelope is made of 100gsm paper and measures 11.4cm x 16.2cm.

Instructions and glue are not supplied but here are some tips:

• Use PVA or school glue as it's acid free and won't bleach your flowers.
• Apply glue using a paintbrush or little sponge.
• Use as little glue as possible for the most natural effect.
• Petals may fall off as you apply the glue but you can stick these on separately if you wish.
• Use plastic tweezers if you have them otherwise make sure your hands are clean and dry.
